Vitelity currently supports the following codecs: Ulaw, Alaw, GSM and G729a. As related to voice, a codec is the process of compressing and decompressing voice data. The G729a codec only uses 24kb of bandwidth on an average call whereas G711u utilizes up to 92kb.
